The Origis Approach
to Siting
As we approached the region for a solar farm, we choose a location CAREFULLY AND THOUGHTFULLY. Origis solar projects are located near existing energy infrastructure and where they can best benefit the electric grid.

Project development teams consider the area’s solar resources, evaluate potential environmental impacts, and find landowners who want to sell or lease their land for the project.

Through careful planning and site engineering SOLAR FACILITIES MAKE GOOD NEIGHBORS.
1
Solar Resources
Origis doesn’t just look at traditionally sunny states like Florida or California. In fact, Washington Parish and Louisiana as a whole also has significant solar resources.
2
Demand
There needs to be a demand for electricity and an interest in purchasing renewable energy. In Louisiana, renewable energy development is fueled by the state's goal of reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
3
Energy Infrastructure
The project features access to nearby transmission lines, which lowers the cost of the energy produced by the facility and allows the project to serve homes and businesses throughout the region.
4
Environmental Evaluation
Wetlands, protected species and critical habitats are all thoroughly documented and avoided when siting a potential project.
5
Cultural
If cultural resources are observed, sensitive artifacts are left untouched.
6
Eager Land Owners
Local landowners who might be willing to sell or lease their property are identified.
